It’s Christmas Eve!! (Yippeeeee)
I think this is one of my favourite parts of Christmas.
I associate it with the level of almost hysterical excitement I experienced when I was little, and therefore I always feel a little giddy on this day. I can remember so clearly what a build-up Christmas Eve was as a child; staying up ‘late’ to watch lovely films on TV, staring eagerly at the presents under the tree in the hope I’d somehow develop x-ray vision, and waiting (impatiently) for that visit from Santa.
Nowadays Christmas is just as exciting, but for me, the best thing about this time of year is seeing friends and family.
I know I’m wading into really gooey territory here, but it’s a great reminder of the people we are lucky enough to have in our lives, and a chance to say thank you as well.
I also want to take this chance to thank everyone who has supported my writing this year. This time 12-months ago I was feeling super nervous because my debut novel was coming out in just a few weeks. I had no idea what to expect, but little did I know I would have so much encouragement from not only family and friends, but also readers from all over the world who have taken the time to get in touch with me. Massive thanks to everyone who has been a part of my writing journey this year.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a very happy New Year….
This year we realised we didn’t have a fairy to go on the tree, so we used this guy. He doesn’t look all that comfortable does he?!
